Membership Fees
All Membership fees are GST inclusive. Course fees of $3 for 9 holes and $5 for 18 holes apply at the time of playing each round, excluding Huapai Affiliate, Junior and Pay to Play categories
Membership Term
The payment of the annual subscription fee is a commitment to a contract with Huapai Golf Club for a 12-month period. By signing up to a membership, the member and Huapai Golf Club are contracted for the full calendar 12 months from their date of joining (moving forward to be the anniversary date of the membership).
Applications for early termination of membership or suspension of membership will be considered in exceptional circumstances and must be made in writing to the Board, via the General Manager, with supporting evidence presented at that time
After joining Huapai Golf Club and you are not completely satisfied with our Club and its facilities you can, within the first 6 months of joining, ask to be resigned with a refund of 50% of your membership fees – or you can stop your direct debits. The joining fee is not refundable in whole or in part and this is only available in the first year of membership
Payment and Instalments
Monthly Direct Debit is available to pay the annual subscription fee; it is not a month-by-month membership that can be halted at any time. There is an annual administration charge of $50 for this payment method. Direct debits are processed on the 20th of every month for 12 months. At the end of the subscription year members will be invoiced for their annual subscription and the administration fee for renewal of their membership. Direct debits will continue to be processed unless a member informs the administration team that they wish to resign.
If a Direct debit is dishonoured 3 times in a subscription year the outstanding annual subscription is payable to continue your membership. A default fee of $10 will be billed for each direct debits payment that bounces.
Joining Fees
This is a one-off fee, applicable to all categories excepting Juniors and Huapai Affiliated, and is not paid again for the duration of your membership. Members transferring from Huapai Affiliated to another playing category must pay the Joining Fee. For all other transfers from one membership category to another, the Joining Fee is not paid again. Should you resign your membership, a joining fee will be applicable at the time of re-joining the club at any time in the future.
New Members Welcome
New members receive a free 45 minute lesson with one of our PGA professionals. It includes an education on course care and maintenance of the golf course, and delivers helpful swing tips during a brief private coaching experience. It provides an opportunity for you to ask questions and to better understand playing golf at Huapai
Course Access
Temporary closures of the golf course for weather related events, corporate or charity bookings, course maintenance or repairs, or events outside the control of the club itself are not cause for compensation or a discounting of the subscription fee.
- Saturday is reserved for members only until 1pm.
- Sunday is reserved for members only until 11am.
- Saturday from first tee off until 9:20am is reserved for men only in Summer and to 10:00am in Winter
- Saturday 9:20am to 10:20am is reserved for women only in Summer and from 10:00am to 11:00am in Winter
- Tee blocks are reserved for men only, women only and 9-hole only at various times of the week Monday to Friday.
- Corporate days are typically restricted to a Thursday afternoon but can be any day of the week.
- Tee bookings open via Dot Golf on an 8-day window, at 6pm 8 days prior to that day’s tee sheet.
- Members can hold 4 live bookings in any 8-day booking window.
- A Fair Play Policy applies, with penalties for transgressions for late cancellation of booked tee times.
- All unused tee times for each Saturday are released on Monday and are then available from that time to any Full Playing or 7-Day member of Huapai Golf Club, male or female
Playing Outside Membership Period
Playing under your HGC membership after the current membership period without completing financial renewal for the new year will incur green fees charged at the non-affiliate rate.
Membership Renewal
Membership automatically renews each year unless written notice of cancellation is received at least one month prior the renewal date. Renewals invoiced on the first day of the calendar month and members have 15 days to settle the invoice for members not on direct debit. After 15 days members are sent a reminder for payment and if not settled within 7 days, tee booking rights are suspended. After a further 7 days without settlement the membership will be resigned.
Membership Holds
HGC does not grant membership holds for overseas travel.
Consideration may be given for medical holds when the period of incapacitation is three months or more. Medical documentation is required and must:
- Be in English
- Be issued by a registered New Zealand medical practitioner
Applications for medical holds must be submitted as soon as reasonably practical.
Playing golf at HGC or any other club without reactivating your HGC membership will void any medical rebate. Approved medical rebates will be processed at the next membership renewal.
Code of Conduct and Fair Play
By renewing your membership or playing under your HGC membership, you agree to abide by the HGC Code of Conduct and Fair Play Policy.
